In preparation for the upcoming holiday, the children and staff at the Kids for the Future clinic in West Memphis participated in a Turkey Trot “mini-k”. Each classroom- led by their teacher- walked four laps around the clinic’s parking lot. As they walked the circle, they chanted about turkey, gobbled, flapped their “turkey arms”, and eventually- each participant crossed the finish line.
Prior to the Turkey Trot, the children created costumes. Several recurring ensembles included- headdresses, pilgrim clothes, and turkey hats. All of the children wore their special outfits on the day of the mini-k and when it came time to walk, each child was proud to show off what he or she had made. Read more
